Established in 1989,
The Hit Squad was the low-end budget label for 8-bit (C64, Spectrum, Amstrad, BBC, MSX) and 16-bit platforms (Amiga, Atari ST, PC/Tandy) of former Mancunian publishing giants
Ocean. The great majority of software published were re-releases of games previously sold at full-price. However, occasionally original games that
Ocean felt could not command a full-price release were exclusively published on the budget label also (e.g. the 16-bit release of
HEAD OVER HEELS for Amiga/ST/PC).
