The Beat-Em-Up genre is not entirely at home on the Amiga (one thinks more of coin-ops or consoles like the Neo Geo) but the machine still saw conversions of many of the popular competitive fighters like Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat or progressive punch-fests like Final Fight, Double Dragon and Castlevania.
Conversions of classic computer beat-em-ups such as IK+, Barbarian and the Last Ninja games made 16-bit appearances too but the Amiga also produced a number of home-grown champions including Body Blows, Fightin Spirit, Elfmania, Shadow Fighter and Capital Punishment.
This genre also saw the much-derided Rise of the Robots.
