The Duel genre features those games where the main gameplay element is a direct confrontation between two players or characters.

A number of fun shareware/Public Domain games appear in this genre; Trick or Treat, Parachute Joust, Knights and Gunfighter. Also included are commercial titles like Fire Power and Spy vs Spy.
