WSOY is short for Werner Söderström Oy., whereupon Oy stands for "osakeyhtiö", which is roughly the same as a "corporation" or "public company" in Finland. WSOY is Finland's leading book publisher and the market leader in general literature, educational materials and a number of specialist publications.
