NOTES

Notes
Spinnaker Software Corporation was founded by its former CEO C. David Seuss, which he led from inception to a public company with $65 million in revenue and 280 employees. Seuss was one of the earliest entrepreneurs of the personal computer age ever. His wife Priscilla co-founded Spinnaker in 1982 and served as its Vice President of Sales. In 1994, Seuss sold the company, and Softkey International was formed through the marriage of SoftKey Software Products, WordStar International and Spinnaker Software. In 1995, SoftKey took an aggressive approach to expansion by bidding over a small educational software company, later known as The Learning Company (TLC). SoftKey and Broderbund Software both fought over TLC; SoftKey managed to capture the company for $606 million in cash, and eventually took the Learning Company name.
