Gareth Murfin began developing PD games for the Amiga in the early to mid-1990s and subsequently established Alpha Software in 1995. He went on to become a commercial developer in the late 90s and freelanced as a computer magazine journalist and web designer while completing computer studies at university. When Alpha Software became a limited company in 2003, he began producing games for the consoles and started focusing his efforts on game development for mobile phones also. Despite running Alpha Software, Murfin has also lent his talents to mobile phone game development/production for other companies including DC Studios and Beyond Capture.
