[5] In January 2015 - only a few weeks after the release of SMURF RESCUE - coder Mikael Persson (Hipoonios) was sent a cease and desist letter regarding distribution of the game and the support webpage. Swiss lawyers representing Studio Peyo, owner of the copyrights and trademark rights for "The Smurfs" also demanded compensation for infringement of intellectual property (see HERE and HERE).
In response, the SMURF RESCUE webpage (including download links) was taken down and the coder, understandably dismayed by the course of events that had transpired, has decided to abandon Amiga game coding altogether. The complete story surrounding this sorry scenario can be read in an EAB thread HERE.

TIPS
----
Save all the smurfs at the beginning so you don't have to walk back - that saves you a lot of time. Don't forget to pick up the presents - these give you extra lives.
