Consistent with other 16-bit computer platforms (Atari ST, Macintosh, PC) at that time, the Amiga conversion of the laserdisc coin-op DRAGON'S LAIR was split into two game releases: DRAGON'S LAIR (PART I) and DRAGON'S LAIR: ESCAPE FROM SINGE'S CASTLE.
Curiously, DRAGON'S LAIR supports hires screenmodes (simply press the 'H' key) - albeit without sound during gameplay! The game also supports interlace mode - but without sacrificing sound - as well as low pass audio filtering (for improved sound on some A500/2000 systems). According to the game manual:
'H – Switch High Resolution mode on and off. ln High Resolution mode, the picture is condensed and centered in the middle of the screen. To see your Amiga reach new heights of graphic excellence, switch to this mode! Audio is disabled while high resolution mode is active.
I – Toggle interlace mode on/off. Interlace mode will double the number of lines displayed on your monitor thus eliminating scan lines and improving image quality. This may, however, cause flicker on some monitors.
A - Toggle Audio on and off.
L - Toggle Low Pass filter on and off. This improves sound quality on some A500’s and A2000’s.'
Based on 1983 Bluth Studios/Cinematronics laserdisc coin-op.
